Well, I've been bad a blogging again. It's summer, I'm feeling lazy, and here we are. I did finish the Jaywalker socks a little while ago. This picture is before blocking. I did block them and they flattened out well. These have been sent to my sister along with a hat and linen hand towel (the green one). Since then, I've also knitted up a blue linen hand towel for myself. It's amazing how nice the drape is of the linen after one washing. It's almost silky. I'll get a picture soon enough of that one, too.

In keeping with the sock theme, I did start another pattern! I bought some Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Yarn in the color "cool", and I've made one sock from the Breeze anklet sock pattern in Knitty.com Summer 2007. I did mess up quite a few times (cabling to the back when I should have done front, etc) and I also ended up counting wrong at some point, and had too many stitches around, but I noticed only when it was time to decrease for the toe. I sort-of fixed it by doing additional decreases in the center, but it turned out ok, regardless. I just need to concentrate a bit better in the more complex parts. With one sock complete, I might cast on for the second, or start another project. I am going to make one more linen hand towel in the Louet Sales Euroflax linen in coral, for my grandmother. I also have a baby pattern to start - actually two, but I only have yarn for one so far. I'll be making the hooded jacket pattern from Debbie Bliss' simply baby book. Two friends have had two baby girls within about 2 weeks of each other. I definitely have my work cut out for me!
